The Appearance

Hair: Jenny’s hair is usually described as red though occasionally it looks blonde or brown. Her thick hair falls in loose curls or tight curls depending on how it decides to behave for the day. Jenny’s hair is usually down unless it gets in her way, and then she puts it up with the hair band that’s always on her wrist. Her hair is different from her sister’s, and so Jenny loves it.
Face: While her hair is different from her siblings, her deep blue eyes are exactly the same as all of her sisters. All the Britton girls have the same blue eyes inherited from their mother. Her eyes are usually full of life, and look happy. Except when she’s sitting off by herself, or in class, staring off into space, and she has a rather dreamy expression and look.
Body & Style: Jenny is also rather tall for a girl. She stands at 5’8, and she towers over her shorter siblings except for Jess and Hannah (who are about the same height as her.) She takes great joy in being taller than her older sisters. She’s a bit on the clumsy side, and this causes ‘incidents’ sometimes. Jenny usually looks happy and like she’s having fun. She’s energetic, and you could tell this from looking at her. Jenny doesn’t care much for shopping. She says it’s a complete waste of time, and she’d be happy wearing almost anything. So she usually wears hand-me-downs from her sisters or clothes that Grace picks out for her. She can usually be found in something comfortable, but cute. She doesn’t mind dressing up if it doesn’t take extra time. She’s got bigger and more fun things to do.
Distinguishing Features: She’s always got way too much energy for a sixteen year old girl so she’s constantly moving around and doing different things. Jenny also looks a lot like her five older sisters (other than her hair) so people often recognize that about her. She’s tall for a girl and she has curly red hair that is very distinguishable.

Dementor: Honestly, Jenny has lived a fairly charmed life. The dementors would most likely bring about her fear of losing everyone she cares about and being completely alone in the world.
Patronus: An otter. She wasn’t able to conjure it until she was practicing with Enny when she was at his house over the summer. Her favorite memory she uses is last February the first time Enny kissed her which was immediately followed by snow. [Read the adorableness here!]

Plans for the Future: Well before Enny she never made any plans about anything much less her future. She was only fifteen after all! She had ages. Now though she finds herself planning more and more. She’s actually thinking about what sort of career she’d like and everything. Mostly when she thinks of her future, she just thinks of Enny.

Personality:
When Jenny Britton arrived at Hogwarts everyone thought she’d be great. They thought she’d be smart like Rae, Jess, and Hannah, extremely sweet like Grace, or a Quidditch star like Kayla. When the carefree, laughing, daring, slightly clumsy, redhead showed up, her professors never dreamed she’d be the way she was. Jenny didn’t care about her classes in the slightest. She was more concerned with having fun. Jenny is always looking for something fun to do no matter how crazy it is. She has on more than one occasion gone outside to play in the rain and the mud puddles, swim in the lake, or just to climb up into a tree. The Gryffindor doesn’t take anything serious. When someone comments on it she just says something about there being enough serious, boring people in the world. She’s constantly laughing and joking.

Jenny doesn’t put up with drama, and she doesn’t care what people think about her. She only cares what she thinks about herself, and maybe a bit that her sisters at least like her. Jenny is all about the present. She doesn’t think ahead, and she has no idea what she’s going to do when she graduates in two years. That’s ages away after all. Recently she’s started to think about the future a bit more though. She really hates going to class and doing homework. She used to claim it’s a complete waste of time, and that Hogwarts would be better without it. (Of course she knows why we have classes, and that this is completely illogical to go to school without going to class, but she still can’t help but wish.) She does however like the practical parts of class when she feels they have taught her a spell she deems ‘useful.’ However recently she’s started to see more of the value of learning and she actually works a bit harder. Having a boyfriend in Ravenclaw will do that to you. She very rarely takes anything seriously. When something serious does come up she often pushes it aside and pretends it doesn’t exist.

Jenny is a rebel at heart. When so many people expected great things from her, she decided to ‘stick it to them’ and do just the opposite. She doesn’t play Quidditch because that was Kayla’s thing. She’s all about being different and unique. She’s not against breaking rules; in fact she does it quite often. She feels that the rules she deems ‘pointless’ are just there to stop them from having fun. So she’ll ignore those rules. She’s not running around doing terrible things mind you. She’s not a bad person, and she gets no joy from doing anything that causes someone else pain or humiliates them. She just likes to enjoy herself. She can’t sit still to save her life and she’s always trying something new.

Jenny was often babied being the youngest of six girls. She was the baby sister, and she could get away with anything. Jenny realized this early on, and took advantage of it. She’s far from stupid; she just barely passes because she can get away with it. (In fact she’s rather on the smart side when she applies herself. When they’re learning ‘useful’ spells she tends to catch on rather quickly.) She’s still rather immature, and she has a lot of growing up to do before she graduates. Over the past eight months however Jenny has grown up a fair amount. However, she’s still got a lot of maturing to do before she enters the real world. The most mature part about her is her nature to stick up for those she can. When someone is picking on her friends she’ll usually try and say something light heartedly to get them to stop. If that doesn’t work then she gets serious and either jinxes them or on occasion gives the bully a punch in the nose if they really deserve it. When she see’s someone picking on someone just because they can it really irks her, and she’ll stand up for them. She says anyone who does stuff like that, is just too boring to come up with their own fun, so they decide to take away someone else’s just because they’re bigger and stronger. She’s rather strong for a girl and she doesn’t need anyone to defend her.

History:
Natalie was actually dating David’s best friend when the two started to really get to know each other. Nick and Natalie had been dating for a few weeks when Nick asked Natalie to get David a date, so that they could double. Nat asked her best friend Haley to double with her and she agreed. Somehow, by the end of the night the pairs seemed to switch around. Within a month the two couples were officially switched around and all were happy. Nat and David married three months after graduation with Haley as the maid of honor and Nick as the best man. Soon after that Nat and David began their long list of girls. Nat had been working in the Department of Mysteries for a year with David when she got pregnant with Rachel. She had planned on going back to work when she got pregnant again with Jessica almost immediately after. So Nat quit work and became a full time mother. She’s never regretted the decision. Kayla came next followed by the twins, Grace and Hannah. Then came the lovely Jenny.

Jenny has always had a lot to live up to if she wants to outshine her sisters. Rae and Jess had already graduated when Jenny started Hogwarts, and Kayla was a seventh year. Rae had gotten a job in the Department of Mysteries with her father, and she had married Nicky Jenkins. (The son of Nick and Haley, the two families had stayed friends throughout the years.) Jess had been accepted into the Auror program, and had officially become out of training that year, and she was engaged to Nicky’s younger brother Derek. (Yes, it sounds a bit creepy, but really it’s not.) Kayla was a star Quidditch player, captain of her house team, and she was guaranteed a spot on a professional team. She already had more than one offer. Grace was known as one of the sweetest girls in school, and Hannah excelled well in all of her studies and both had been named prefects that year.

In hopes of having another exceptionally gifted child, she was put into piano lessons at a young age. Jenny hated it at first because she was even worse about sitting still for long periods of time then. (Yes, it is actually possible to be worse than she is now.) When her teacher realized her knack for it, and told her she was talented Jenny began to take interest. None of her sisters had ever been any good at anything musical (other than Hannah who took ballet) and it was something that could be just hers. However, when she realized it was going to define her as just another talented Britton sister she decided to keep it hidden. She would much rather be different. Besides, the habit is not really very her and she’s a bit embarrassed about it.

Most people, especially her teachers, expected great things from Jenny. Jenny’s reaction to this was to purposely not outshine her sisters. When the spunky care free girl showed up she didn’t seem to excel in her subjects nor care or show great signs of being especially talented elsewhere. She was sorted into Gryffindor house, which wasn’t unusual for anyone in her family. She wanted to be her own person, and her main goal was to have fun at Hogwarts. Jenny admired her sisters, but she had been compared to them all her life and she hated it. So when she got to school she decided that she was done with it, and after awhile her professors and the other students stopped expecting her to be like her sisters. Jenny tends to blow off school work unless it’s absolutely necessary, goes to all the parties, and blatantly disobeys the rules when she wants too. Overall though she’s very likable and despite the fact she’s not like her sisters, a teachers ideal student, many of her professors are really rather fond of her. She’s made many friends throughout Hogwarts, but she also has her fair share of enemies.

Last year, shortly before Christmas, the Gryffindor sat at the Ravenclaw table to avoid the Gryffindor gossip queens when she met Carwyn Jones, a quiet, studious sixth year Ravenclaw. He was a bit surprised to have someone interrupt his quiet reading time, but that didn’t stop Jenny barely noticed. She sat down and started talking and she never shut up. It was in that first conversation she learned of an old friend who used to call him Enny, because of all the n’s in his name. Well she thought it was incredibly clever and she never calls him anything else unless she’s introducing him to someone. (She almost forgot his real name once actually.) Of course their lunch might have just been a meeting of strangers if the Ravenclaw hadn’t mentioned that he’d never had a snow fight. That was absolutely tragic in Jenny’s eyes and she insisted that he meet her for a proper snow fight. They were dating by the beginning of February and the two have been near inseparable since.
