"One foot in front of the other
One day at a time."
The Character
Name: Adessa Lynn Creed
Nicknames: Dessy, Des
Birthdate: October 6th, 1960
Year: 7th
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Blood Status: Pureblood
House: Ravenclaw
Canon or Original: Original
The Appearance
Hair: Dessy's hair is fairly typical in nature. It's red in color, but its dark enough that at times it seems auburn. The locks fall well down past her shoulders, to about mid way just between the middle of her back and below her shoulder blades. despite much effort put into it, Des' hair is usually lightly curly. It usually takes far too long and too much effort to get it straightened, and she usually just doesn't take the time to do so.
Face: Dessy's eyes are just typically shaped. They're grey in color and at one time they always appeared far away. Now, her eyes are usually always focused and alert. Her face is heart shaped and as of late, she's usually found with at least a pleasant expression if not a full blown smile.
Body & Style: Adessa is a rather plain and simple girl. She’s not fairly tall, and she isn’t extremely attractive. Her height stalls at a simple 5’5” ½, and though her body is well developed and grown into, it’s really nothing to oogle at. And though there isn’t much to her, Dessy does have a rather firm looking frame, though she really is quite delicate.
Her clothing is basic and comfortable. While she used to hide behind large robes, now she's in clothing her size. Usually, she's found in jeans and t-shirts, but every once in a while (an don special occasion) she's found in a skirt and heels. Though this is usually rare.
Distinguishing Features: There really isn't anything that sets Dessy apart from the people around her. At one time, it would have been her brooding nature and her ability to appear invisible in a room full of people. Now she's stepped away from all that (or is at least trying to) and is doing her best to blend in, not stick out.

Strengths:
1. Dessy is very strategic. She's good at coming up with a plan when it's needed right off the top of her head.
2. She's very focused and determined. Once she sets her mind on something, she keeps at it until she gets it done.
3. She has a strong empathy for people and their problems. She can relate to most cases and is always willing to listen and help in whatever way she can.
Weaknesses:
1. Dessy isn't very self confident. Because of this, she isn't very good at taking compliments directed her way.
2. She is rather shy around new people and doesn't manage to make friends very easily.
3. There are times when she has back lapses of what happened to her during her fifth year. She'll become completely antisocial, and in most cases flip out completely. She becomes closed in and afraid of almost everyone and everything around her.
Plans for the Future: Despite everything that’s gone on in the girl’s life, she really hopes to finish Hogwarts and get a job at the Ministry as an Unspeakable.
Personality: At one time, Dessy seemed shy, timid, and well reserved. She still doesn’t generally take the time to engross herself with making friends and having a good time. She takes her school work seriously and doesn’t usually like to goof off and relax until everything she needs to get done is as such. For her friends, however, she’s always there and very dependable. Her loyalties lie with them first and anything they typically need, she’ll work hard to attain. She does have a bit of an imagination and usually helps quiet it down with a good book or two.
She isn't particularly fond of sports, though does like to catch a good Quidditch match when the mood strikes her. This isn't something she flaunts, however, due ot the fact that she's afraid her liking to watch Quididtch will draw attention upon herself. Despite Des' timid and shy nature, she does have an extremely firm protective streak over the people she cares about. If a situation calls for it, she can usually cast her timid side away and become firm to a brutal point and perhaps even slightly vicious. She doesn't put up with people assaulting her friends and won't stand for it one bit.
As of late, Des' usual personality of timid and shy has been cast aside and replaced with a glimpse of the person she used to be. She smiles a lot more, she's easier to be around, and she likes to be around people (ones that she knows, at least) a lot more. She spends her times with friends who stood by her during her darkest hours, and she enjoys every minute of it. No one seems to know what this change was brought on by, but it's been for the better, and thus no one has complained.
The Background
Family Members:
Father: Charlie Mathew Creed
Mother: Grace Amy Creed
Older Sister: Samantha Jane Creed
Older Brother: Mathew Jayden Creed
Residence: She lives out in the country around London- Well, the house is hers', at least. When she's not at school, she actually spends her time IN London at her brother's flat- usually on her own while he works.
History: Adessa is the youngest child born to the Creed family. By her second year of life, she was already showing signs of magic, which pleased her parents greatly. As she grew, her closest (immediate) relative became her brother, and bit by bit her older sister became less and less prone to being around the family. By age eleven, Dessy received her letter to Hogwarts and life was normal and carefree up until the girl’s fifth year. Christmas Term at home proved to be an event Des would never forget, and as such, she hasn’t exactly been right since. She came back to school rather late after Christmas Break had ended, and she had more or less completely changed. Where she had at one time been bright and bubbly, she was closed in, reserved, and extremely timid. She hasn’t talked about what happened that Christmas (though general facts were littered throughout the Prophet) and as far as she’s concerned, she never will.
With everyone knowing what happened, and no one really speaking a word of it to Des, but around her, she more or less began spending her time with less and less people- especially those not of her house. She does, however, stick extremely close to a few long time friends and hardly lets them out of her sight. Said friends and Des were sorted into different Houses, and are even of separate years, though they’ve managed to become more or less inseparable throughout the years. This didn't, however, help fend off the horrid nightmares and the like for Des throughout her years. Despite all of this, however, Des had made a firm decision within the final days of her 6th year. She swore she would let the past be the past and push harder for a brighter future.
Since the beginning of her seventh and final year at Hogwarts, she has set about doing just that. Day by day she tries to not even think about her fifth year, much less what happened during Christmas term. Needless to say, things haven't been entirely easy, but she's not letting it get her down. The life changing events had done their damage long enough in the girl's opinion, but now she has decided to let it all go and more or less start anew.

RP Example:The Room of Requirement was an odd place. It was only there for those who needed it, and always gave those in need exactly what they needed. It was a place of sanctuary, someplace people could go to hide away from the world and do whatever it was they needed to/loved to do without interruptions from the world around them- unless of course someone else needed into the room desperately for some reason or another, then access was typically granted, the room would accommodate, and all would be well in the world.
For Adessa, she had simply needed a place to hide out where she could be herself for a little while. True enough, she should have been able to do such a thing around her friends and peers, but honestly it was the hardest thing in the world to be herself around the people who cared about her. This was mostly because of how much they reminded her of her old life- before her world was turned upside down. Dessy was not the same person anymore. She had grown and changed drastically. Where the once happy and bubbly girl had been, there was a fairly dark and brooding figure in her place. Now, that's not to say that Adessa was mean or cruel. She was still quite pleasant and had no intentions of harming those around her or to give into the darkness in her heart.
However, there were times when she couldn't handle the temptation to lash out, to explode, to just throw a fit like a small child and attempt to get away with it. Thus why she would tuck herself away inside the Room of Requirement when such feelings got the better of her. She could either practice spells, scream until she was blue in the face, or do what she was doing now...Letting music run it's course through her infuriation. Her ever present, yet always hidden violin was tucked into it's case at her side. Dessy herself was seated atop a small rise of the floor that presented itself as a small state. The room itself was arched and hallowed, so that the sound would reverberate better, thus creating the perfect acoustic proportion for the girl's liking.
Without the fear of having someone listening in on her playing her violin, thus finding out she could do as such and therefore taking that bit of her mother away from her- she had spent at least an hour running through songs and scales until her fingers started to ache. Now, however, she was sat with far too straight posture, her eyes closed and her lips parting on occasion to spill the words to the melody she'd had stuck in her head as of late.
"Soldier boy, soldier boy, where are you going to? Soldier boy, soldier boy, in your coat so fine?"
Of course, the song was a duet, and while Dessy was capable of singing both parts, she didn't particularly like to. So before she had started the session, she had enchanted a near-by statue to sing the male half of the song so that she herself didn't have to. The vocals were a bit deep, but it pleased the redhead regardless.
"I am riding off to war, where the mighty canons roar, where the golden bugle shines. Oh lady fair be mine."
A smile touched Dessy's lips, lifting it at the corners slowly as her seated frame swayed a bit to the slow tune filling the room. "Soldier boy, soldier boy, when will you come again? Soldier boy, soldier boy, in your coat so fine?"
"When the leaves are green again, when the lilacs bloom again. When there is an end to war, then I will come once more."
Slowly Dessy's eyes opened, her mood shifting a bit via her expression to fit the mood of the song. "Seven times, seven more, leaves turned to green again. Lilacs bloomed, every spring, just like before..."
"But there was no end to war, seven years and seven more. Still she waited just the same..."
"But no one ever came..."
As the song dwindled to a close, a sigh left Adessa's lips. She casually lifted her wand, flicking it at the statue to keep it from starting the song over again. Really, it was quite the depressing song, but it fit her so well. Her life...Not to mention the song itself, though a bit dark, was beautiful. It had been a piece her parents used to sing together, thus the deepened vocals she'd enchanted the statue with. It had sung back to her in the voice of her father, which was why it pleased her so much. But now it was done, and the voice was gone, leaving the redheaded Ravenclaw alone, in silence with her thoughts within the folds of the Room of Requirements.
