Two weeks back at Hogwarts and Tristain’s sleeping schedule was already ridiculously out of whack. Tristain was fairly certain he must have some sort of insomnia. Then again perhaps it was just his really bad habits because he had quite a few of those. None the less, it was late, very late, and Tristain Hayden could not fall asleep to save his life. He had slept a very large chunk of the day including through most of his classes and a nice nap by the lake. After awhile of laying in his bed staring at the roof… canopy… what the hell ever it was called Tristain decided it was time to go down to the kitchen and get himself a snack… well snacks. Perhaps then he’d be able to sleep. Even if it didn’t help, he’d have food so he’d be happy. There really wasn’t a lot that could go wrong there. Very conveniently the kitchen was on the same floor as the Slytherin common room. Tristain was just arrogant enough to think that perhaps this was just about his convenience and not just because Slytherins were often creepy and gloomy and belonged down in the dark dungeons and it was convenient for the kitchens to be located underneath the great hall. That could not possibly be the reason.
Tristain very quietly got up (his roommates did not all have his bizarre sleeping schedule) and grabbed a t-shirt before heading down the stairs. He made his way to the kitchens and the house elves all greeted him by name. He really did go to the kitchens far too often. He made his way to the back and made himself a very large sandwich and grabbed a handful of chocolate chip cookies. He made his way back to the front of the kitchen where there were some tables. Tristain grinned when he saw that all too familiar body. The girl was obviously very irritated as she was talking to one of the house elves. Tristain set down his sandwich and motioned for the elf to be quiet. The Slytherin went up behind her and wrapped his arms around her perfect waist. “You know they respond much better when you talk to them nicely,” he teased. “All the yelling makes them nervous and they panic.”

Shenea hadn't bothered trying to sleep. She had been up for hours, and had been spending her time with what she had thought was good company. The day with the male companion she'd kept had been nice. Much less her style, but nice regardless. By the end of the night, when things were supposed to cool down and take a dive to intimate, Shenea hadn't wanted to. This apparently hadn't been what her companion wanted, and he'd quite simply tried to force it out of the girl. Lucky enough for her, Nene wasn't half as helpless as she looked. A swift kick to the groin and a knee to the face gave her enough time to get away from him and out of the common room all together.
She'd missed dinner because of the moron, and thus her stomach had begun to protest loudly. So, a trip to the kitchen- late or not- was in order.
When she'd gotten there, she'd been greeted by the House Elves. Shenea wasn't quite fond of the creatures, but she didn't despise them either. It was just a matter of not knowing much about them. Though with her current mood, their lack of understanding for what she wanted was highly frustrating. "I told you, I want apple butter, not pear butter! How hard is that to understand?!"
This wasn't their fault. Her mood wasn't their fault either, but it was easier to take it out on them then go to bed angry. Of course, that was until a set of arms curled around her waist. Nene's body stiffed and a short intake of breath caught in her throat. She had been ready to start yelling in protest when the voice caught up to the action, and said voice made her roll her eyes, "I'll be nice when they learn the difference between apples and pears." she stated firmly, wiggling (probably far more then necessary) against him and his grip until she managed to get loose.
"What are you doing up so late, Hayden?" normally, he and Shenea were on first name terms, but she was irritated, and not thinking about pleasantries at the moment.

Tristain felt Shenea tense up ready to turn into attack mode (the girl was far from helpless, he knew that) but she relaxed when she realized it was just him. The two had been friends for quite some time. (Not to mention friends with benefits off and on over the years.) Tristain let Nene struggle for a few moments (because he had to admit, it was nice) before letting her break free so she could turn around and face him. The irritated look on her face only made Tristain laugh. “You know, you really are rather sexy when you’re all riled up,” he told her with a wink. He grinned when she called him Hayden instead of Tristain. “Well Itotia,” he said emphasizing her surname, “you know me. I spent all day sleeping in class and now I can’t sleep.” He sat down at the table where had set his sandwich.
“Now, I’m sure you’re not just here to torment the house elves. What are you doing up? In the kitchen no less. I didn’t know girls like you ate. I thought you lived off the energy of the misery you cause others,” he teased. He turned to the cowering house elf. “Hey Dot, could you go get my friend here some apple butter for her bread. I’m sorry she yelled. She’s got a bit of a temper sometimes.” The house elf nodded and scurried off. “What has put you in this vicious mood anyways?” he asked her curiously as he took a large bite of his sandwich. He held out one of the cookies to offer her.

Another annoyed sound left Nene's lips due to Tristan's teasing. Honestly, same old Trist. Some things honestly never did seem to change. Her hands laid against her hips and her eyes wandered away from him- after the comment about her state of being riled up, she had to look away or risk smiling. "Yes, well, maybe you should quit sleeping during class all of the time, don't you think?" she risked a glance back up at him and was thankful when he moved to his food. She watched the little House Elf dart off after asked to find her preferred snack of choice, and Nene sighed. "You need to get a new routine." she stated, matter of fact like, then sat on a stool across from him.
The cookie was eyeballed for several moments before the brunette reached out to accept it. She mulled over his question, thinking about the easiest way to answer it without delving too many details. Shenea had a reputation of keeping up with her companions, not telling them no. "Bad company." she finally answered, shrugging her shoulders. "He was annoying and probably wouldn't have been worth my time."
That said, she took a decent sized bite out of the cookie, crossing one long, slender leg over the other as she chewed thoughtfully.

He chuckled. “Well what else is class good for?” he asked winking at her again. He watched her place her hands on her hip and then look away so she wouldn’t break a smile. The girl really was something. That was certain. He snorted and pretended to look offended. “My routine is just fine, thank you very much. I’m rather pleased with it. You should try it some time,” he told her. “You might find out that you actually enjoy it.”
He almost laughed when she contemplated taking his cookie. Girls were so odd about food. Tristain never would have given a second thought to taking a cookie. Of course she could still just be pretending to be mad at him still. Finally she took the cookie. He eyed her suspiciously after her response.
Something was off about her story and Tristain intended to find out what it was. “Are you saying you told him no, or are you saying he didn’t make a move?” he asked her raising his eyebrows. There was no doubt that he had told her no. No guy turned down Nene. It was also almost as unlikely that he didn’t hit on her because of a, the way she looked and b, her reputation. She usually didn’t tell guys no though. At least not guys she actually bothered to go on a date with.

"Highly unlikely," Nene shook her head, polishing off the cookie and dusting her hands off of lingering crumbs clinging to her fingers. "Besides, if I took up napping in class, people might think we were trying to bond. Then I'd be up every night, stuck with you and only you all the time. Can't have that, now can we?" she reached across the table to snag another cookie.
His question caused her to sigh. Of course he had to ask questions. Why couldn't guys just leave mystery lingering in the air and allow a subject to die with the phrases girls used? Why did they always have to pry? "I said no." she stated this simply, turning her attention briefly to the jar and buttered toast placed up onto the table beside her. "Thank you." she murmured, then accepted the butter knife handed to her, but set it down as well. She'd eat when her suddenly dropped appetite returned again.

Tristain raised his eyebrows at her before breaking out in very wide grin. “I can think of plenty of things we can do all night long Nene,” he said with heavy implication unable to keep the grin off of his handsome face. “We’d most definitely be bonding then,” he told her with a wink. Yes, he could not resist being a guy. Not that he would have bothered to try if he could. Besides, she had totally set him up on that one. Besides, Nene was a flirt. She wasn’t likely to be offended when it came to that. Not when it came to him anyways. They went way back
There was no more of the grin left on his face and he now looked very serious, which was a rare look for him. There were very few things that made Tristain Hayden angry and pretty much all of them involved someone hurting someone he cared about. He watched her butter the toast for a moment before speaking again. “I’ll take it the scum bag wasn’t too happy about that?” he asked though it sounded much more like he was stating a fact. “Tell me what happened Nene.”

A brow arched high over Nene's eye. She stared at Tristan for a moment, then couldn't help but smile- if only just slightly. "If I recall, Trist, it's been quite some time since we've done any sort of bonding. Of any kind for that matter." she shook her head and crossed her legs the other way. She then casually grabbed her butter knife and started buttering her toast.
Then the interrogation had begun. The faint smile faded and Shenea's lips pressed into a firm line. At first it seemed as if she wasn't going to answer, and to be honest she had thought about not doing as such. But this was Tristan, he'd follow her all over the place until he got some answers, or start interrogating the boys in the Slytherin house until he got results. And that wasn't something either of them needed on their reputations. Nene needing a protector, and Tristan acting like some crazy boyfriend on a rampage. Not good for either of them.
Another sigh passed her lips and the brunette turned her gaze on her friend. "No, he didn't like it. He got angry, got handsy and forceful, and now he's got bruised pride and a broken nose." both brows arched this time around, "And that's the end of it. I took care of it." she dropped the knife and folded her arms under her bust line, "Anything else?"

Nope. She wasn’t mad. Of course not, he had known she wouldn’t be. Not that he would have done things differently if he thought she would get mad. He chuckled and scooted his chair forward and leaned forward until he was very close to her face. “Well, Nene, we could easily fix that now, couldn’t we?” he told her.
She wasn’t going to answer. This was going to get complicated. Now that he knew something had gone on and she wasn’t going to tell him, he was determined to know. Tristain was ridiculously stubborn. If he wanted to know he would find out. Even if he had to irritate the brunette to death to find out the truth. She must have realized this too because she finally seemed as if she were going to tell him.
His eyes narrowed in anger when she told him what had happened. It hadn’t been any worse than he expected though and clearly Nene had taken care of it. She could handle herself quite well and she didn’t need a protector. Besides, Nene wasn’t his girlfriend. Neither of them did the commitment thing and they had more fun with their casual relationship.
Nene wasn’t his sister either. She definitely was not his sister. First of all, if she were his sister he’d have locked her up in a tower a long time ago. Thank Merlin Allison was not showing any obvious signs of… well of being like Nene. Not that he had a problem with Nene. Second of all, well their very relationship was definitely nothing like that of a sibling.
“Yup. Do you want me to kick his ass for you?” he asked his negative mood decreasing significantly. “Because I will you know. If you want. Of course there are always other ways to get revenge you know. Throwing some buff, sexy Quidditch player in their face really works you know.” He was quickly returning to his normal self.

/Shenea shook her head, pausing to take a bit of her toast. Her eyes closed and a sound bordering pleasure rumbled in her throat. She took the time to chew through the bite, then swallow it and set the toast back down before opening her mouth to speak. "I'm pretty sure I took care of it." she stated with a shrug, though the idea of flaunting Tristan around as a replacement for the company she'd been keeping was appealing. "Though, if you're offering..."
She arched a brow at him, looking amused by the idea. The jerk she'd left with a broken nose wouldn't be the only face worth seeing if Shenea and Tristan began keeping each other company. It could be quite amusing, and well worth the time. "Hm..." she sat up straighter and folded her arms over her chest, apparently seriously thinking about this option. Though, she'd probably be ready to smack Tristan around before the first day was out. "Might be something to think about." she settled, the reached for her toast again.
That went double for bonding with him again...

Tristain smirked thinking about walking around the castle with Nene. Both of them had, well, reputations around the castle for not having real relationships. They both went on dates all the time and they were both shameless flirts. Most people probably suspected that the two had been together in the past, but to walk around for a day or two with Nene on his arms would be, well it would be fun. It would probably make them even more attractive to others come to think of it. People always wanted what they thought they couldn’t have. “Oh, I’m definitely offering,” he said still smirking. “I think it would be a lot of fun,” he told her. “In more ways than one.”
He took a few bites of his sandwich while she mulled over a bit. This might just possibly be the best threat/ move he had ever made. Especially when you thought about the… bonding that came with it. He finished off his sandwich and scooted his chair around the small table so he was sitting right beside her instead of across from her. He really preferred to be closer rather than farther from the girl. “Well Nene,” he told her still smirking. “The ball’s in your pitch. I’m game for anything you want to do.”

She had watched him after her response, mulling over her own snack as she did so. When he polished off his sandwich and moved closer, Nene herself turned her chair so that she was sat facing him instead of sat with the side of her face toward him. She took the time to look him over, noting the differences in his appearance since the last time they'd been close. There were definitely some physical changes. Muscular, posture, the list went on. It was all appealing and just made the idea lingering between them more appealing.
With a thoughtful hum, Shenea shifted in her seat, once again switching to cross one leg over the other again. She took the time to wet her lips with the tip of her tongue before nodding, "Well, if the ball is mine for the passing," she started, then leaned close enough to touch or be touched- but didn't reach up to initiate contact- "I say it sounds like a good idea to me. When do we start?"

Tristain was pleased that she chose to face towards him rather than moving away. Sometimes Nene was stubborn. Tonight did not seem to be one of those nights though. It really had been too long since the two were together. The last time had been... when was it? Oh that was right. It had been after the final exams were over for the first term last year during the Slytherin party. Which they had both come to with other dates come to think of it. However, after a few fire whiskeys that hadn’t really mattered. That had been one hell of a party. Well one hell of an after party anyways. She looked older now though. She had grown up a bit over the summer. Her hair was longer and her skin was darker from all the sun over the summer.
Tristain leaned closer as she did. “Well,” he was close enough to feel her breath now. “We’ll start flaunting ourselves tomorrow as Hogwarts sexiest pairing.” Relationship and couple were certainly not the right words to use. “I say we get started right now though,” he said leaning forward and closing the gap between them to kiss her. As he did so he also looped one arm around her waist and pulled her off the stool so she was closer to him.

Arrogance had always been a common trait amongst Slytrherins, and right now Shenea could almost feel both her own arrogance, and Tristan's almost radiating off of them both. Sexiest pairing? Absolutely. There wasn't a better term or definition for the two of them. Any time they paired up, eyes followed- and any time they caused trouble together, everyone heard about it. So this idea lingering between them (concrete now in it's creation) was brilliant. It was definitely going to turn some heads to say the very least. And that's what they wanted, right?
As Tristan leaned forward to counter her movement, Shenea smirked. She knew what was coming, and saw it before thoughts could be put into actions. When his mouth found hers, Nene submitted entirely. She allowed herself to be pulled from the stool she was sat on, and edged only as close as he pulled her. This was a game, after all, and it had to be played right. Regardless of the unwritten rules to their silent game (or sometimes not so silent game...) Nene leaned into the kiss, allowing her hands to snake up his chest to his shoulders, then to either side of his face. From here, she pushed just slightly, breaking the kiss so that she could speak freely.
"Tomorrow sounds good." she stated, eyes now at half mast, "As for starting tonight?" Shenea canted her head a bit to one side, "I'd have to check my schedule."
It was teasing, of course, and proof of this was written all over the girl's face. Just another part of the game- playing hard to get.

The two of them together would no doubt make quite the splash if they pretended to be a couple for any length of time. They both had reputations of being the sort who simply don’t have relationships. Not serious commitment relationships. Tristain had dated more than one girl who apparently thought they could tame him or whatever and they always blamed him when it didn’t work out. The two of them together would be kind of hilarious. Not to mention how incredibly attractive they both were. He could already hear the rumors and speculations. ‘They will make beautiful babies.’
He was pleased when she kissed him back. Tease was Nene’s favorite game most days. (Not that it was a bad thing of course.) He deepened the kiss and pulled her forward off of her stool and directly into his lap so that they were both more comfortable. He felt her hands snake up his chest and wrap around his neck so he pulled her closer to him so that there was little, if any, space between them.
He sighed heavily when she pulled away. He raised his eyebrows when she mentioned checking her schedule. He knew she was teasing of course. Two could play at that game. “You know Nene,” he said glancing at his watch. (The accessory was more for show than anything else. He never bothered to arrive to class or anywhere else on time.) “I think you’re right. Maybe we should wait until tomorrow. I might have something I should get out of my system before we start flaunting ourselves about the school giving the impression that we’re taken or something of that sort.” He pressed his lips against her neck and then leaned back a little so they weren’t quite as close, although they were still plenty close and his arms were still firmly around her waist. “Unless you’d rather clear your schedule,” he said looking up at her.
