It had been quite some time...Quite a long time, actually, since Sky had been allowed control. His sweeter counter part hadn't needed him in forever, and he still hadn't needed him today. Unfortunately for Skylar, the darker half of the personality was the one who woke up this morning, and he wasn't going to relinquish his hold on the reigns very easily.
He'd made his way outside, pushing the innocent half of his personality away constantly as Skylar fought for control. There was no way in hell he was going back into the background. Right now all he could think about was getting in some quality time with the girlfriend. They needed to learn to get along, right? Well, what better was was there then to spend some time together?
Which was why he'd sent word to Esme through the grape vine to meet him in the Court Yard.
As it were, Sky was positioned with his back to the Castle. He was leaned against a column, arms folded over his chest, one ankle crossed behind the other. He was waiting for her, listening to the noises around him. He'd know when she approached, and he'd be ready for it.

When Esme caught word that Skylar wanted to see her out in the courtyard, she was puzzled at first. Why on Earth had he sent someone to fetch her instead of Owling her himself, or coming to find her- after all this time he should know that she would be in the Library studying something. That being what it was, she still put down her books and made her way out to the the coutyard, figuring this was just one of her boyfriend's quirks acting up in a new way. THAT she was used to.
She saw him, back to where she was standing, and approached him carefully, not wanting to startle him. She edged around into his field of vision and smiled slightly before looking at the ground. "Hey there stranger. Heard you were looking for me?"
As she looked back up, she noticed the tiny differences in him that usually meant Sky, and her heart dropped a little bit. But, it had been so long since this had happened that she didn't fully accept the truth right away- which would probably be a mistake in the long run.

Footsteps. Ones closing in on his position. This caused Sky to smirk and bow his head a bit. There she was, as predictable as ever. He didn't move, instead he allowed her to believe that he wasn't aware of her presence yet. After all, Sky-bear was rather non-observant and easy to sneak up on. What was wrong in allowing dear little Esme to believe that it was indeed her boy-toy she'd come out to meet instead of the man of the pair of personalities? Oh, he could teach her a thing or two, and then she'd want him around all the time.
Of course, getting her to that point was the impossible part.
As she rounded in front of him, Sky's eyes opened and he peered down at Esme. For a long moment he just stared, listening to her as she spoke, but hadn't looked up at him. This caused his smirk to broaden more- especially when her eyes finally found his face and the pieces seemed to slowly piece themselves together. Or had they...? Denial, it seemed. It was written on her face plain as day.
"Yes, I wanted to see you." he replied to her, shifting his weight from one foot to the other carefully so that he could cross his ankles the other way. "We need to have ourselves a little talk." he arched a brow at her, waiting for an acceptance or denial. Either way it didn't really matter. If he had to, he'd drag her off somewhere and make her listen. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that. Skylar didn't need even more reasons to keep him locked away, after all.
